NCCN welcomes Research Lead Dr Gemma Pugh

The National Child Cancer Network (NCCN) is excited to announce the arrival of Dr Gemma Pugh to the team as NCCN Research Lead. Gemma has worked as an academic researcher for the last six years, mainly in the UK. She has a PhD in Behavioural Science and is most recently worked as a Research Programme Manager at the Liggins Institute. She has led various quantitative and qualitative studies to investigate young people’s experiences of cancer survival, which has helped inform intervention development. As such, she has a strong understanding of planning and delivering research projects.

Gemma takes over from our previous NZCCR Manager/Analyst Kirsten Ballantine, and has some familiarity with the child and AYA cancer landscape in New Zealand as has recently been working part time with the AYA Cancer Network Aotearoa.
