07 Sep September: Childhood cancer awareness month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It gives us a chance to acknowledge all the children/tamariki and their families/whānau affected by childhood cancer in New Zealand and around the world. It is also a chance to shine a light on the realities of dealing with a child cancer diagnosis and emphasise the importance of research to improving long term outcomes for these children.
The gold ribbon is used as a symbol of childhood cancer around the world to remind us how treasured our children are.
