16 Jul Update to NZ child cancer incidence and survival data (NZCCR), June 2018
An update to New Zealand’s child cancer incidence and survival data was recently presented at the annual ANZCHOG meeting in Sydney Australia, 15-17 June. The estimated five-year survival rate for childhood cancers in New Zealand (84%) is comparable with data recently published for other OECD countries such as Australia, Canada and the US.
See the poster for more information.
The completeness and accuracy of child cancer registration data in New Zealand has also recently been evaluated. Ascertainment of childhood cancer appears to be virtually complete in New Zealand with an overall capture-recapture estimate of greater than 99.9%.
